Dexterity

The Dexterity Art Exhibit has been organized by local artist, Olga Guy 🎨🎨📚. It showcases the work of five artists of varying styles, but they all have one thing in common – a love for painting and making art. The expansive show will be on display through October 1st in the Youth Services gallery walls, Adult Services gallery wall and a lobby display case. The art exhibit can be visited during library hours: Monday – Wednesday (9 am – 7 pm) and Thursday – Saturday (9 am – 5 pm).

Participating artists:
Anne Elsea Thrift
“I work primarily in abstract style, undertaking sharp contrast, somewhat unexpected colors, and various patterns of movement. I never fully know how a given piece will end as a final product, for much of the adventure is in the element of surprise of what will be. I do plan a loose framework but choose to follow a more carefree, less calculated attitude towards the creative process. I find great pleasure, challenge, and peace in creating art and am inspired to learn as much as I can as I expand my ARTnatomy collection.”

His favorite colors are vibrant yellows, greens, and oranges. He finds inspiration from dreams and being out in God’s creation and looks for opportunities to capture their beauty. Her paintings “Tropical Aquarium”, “Clown Fish” and “Sea Turtle” won the 1st place in the watercolor category at the Bay County Fair Art Show in 2014, 2015 and 2016, respectively. Olga Guy currently dedicates her time to create exquisite watercolor paintings and teaches art lessons at her private studio and at the Center for the Arts.
